Toku Nori
Toku Nori is a contemporary Japanese Handroll Bar, Izakaya and Sushi. What is hand roll composed of? Rice and nori, hence, the name. The word Toku Nori in Japanese translates to “special seaweed.” Good sushi lies in the quality of the rice and nori. Every roll is made fresh by the chef in front of you. Some of the ingredients like the caviar were not of premium quality. Simple interior. Was busy during lunch time. Service was slow and disjointed.

About this Restaurant
“Toku (特)” means special in Japanese. At Toku Nori, we are reinventing handrolls with our own special take.
Inspired by Japanese speakeasies in New York City, our restaurant is located in the upper stories of a heritage shophouse in the hip district of Telok Ayer. We offer patrons a range of delectable handrolls, izakaya, and sake for a memorable dining experience.
Our crisp seaweed (“nori”) is cultivated with meticulous care and handpicked at the peak of freshness. Laid within that is premium grade japonica pearl rice Koshihikari, cooked with precision to achieve a a sublime balance of moisture, stickiness, and subtle sweetness.
Complete your handroll with fresh seafood options including scallops, yellowtail, and salmon, or opt for a more premium experience with wagyu, uni, and foie gras. Round out your meal with delicious izakaya dishes or our unique sake pairing selection.
