Harummanis is a Singaporean restaurant by chef @akmalanuarofficial . Chef Akmal needs no introduction (3Fils, Gold Fish, 11 Woodfire, Osteria Funkcoolio). Chef Akmal delves into his Malay heritage. Although Singapore’s heritage is shaped by Chinese, Indian, and Malay ethnicities, Harummanis focuses on celebrating Malay cuisine. Malay cuisine is the traditional food of the ethnic Malays of southeast Asia residing in modern day Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and southern Thailand. Known for its generous use of spices and the richness imparted by coconut milk, Malay dishes are characterized by bold, aromatic flavors and a creamy texture. The menu at Harummanis showcases traditional dishes with a modern twist. The outstanding dishes were: beef Rendang, duck filled pancake and the sea bass. A must visit restaurant.

About this Restaurant
The Harummanis story began in a humble hawker stall in Teck Whye Lane in 1992. It has since served the local community for over two generations and continues to do so. Today, Chef Akmal Anuar embarks on a new chapter – Redefining Harummanis. He pays homage to his parents’ enduring thirty-year legacy, with his contemporary take on traditional Malay recipes.
