The Verdict
Sutēki, Dubai, UAE. A new addition to Dubai’s Japanese dining scene centred around wagyu. So if you’re not a meat lover, this probably isn’t the place for you. What I felt was lacking was that extra layer of creativity, effort and depth. A strong concept alone isn’t enough, the execution needs to surprise you too. Since meat is the star of the show, I would have expected to see more variation in textures and preparations to keep the palate engaged throughout the meal. The space is cosy with warm lighting, but for me it feels more like a place to go for drinks and then have some food, rather than a food-first destination.
