La Rotellina

Panzerotti originated in southern and central Italy. They are basically small versions of calzoni, but are fried rather than oven-baked. The most common fillings are tomato and mozzarella but now they come with different filings and even sweet ones like Nutella. La Rotellina is a small shop in Polignano de Mare that sells Panzerotti. It is very popular and always crowded. We waited for 50m to get our order. The panzerotti are prepared and fried at the time of ordering so you’ll get a freshly prepared one which you could eat to go. You might want to wait though, it’s very - I mean VERY - hot.
