About this Restaurant
There is news in the Schwarzer Kameel: The restaurant with the fabric-covered tables has moved one floor higher to the bel étage. A magnificent gem with an elegant and at the same time cosy atmosphere was created here, where you can glide through the centuries: with niches of precious wood panelling, grape stucco, Lobmeyr chandeliers… The architect of the house, which was completed in 1901, Karl Mayreder, created an Art Nouveau jewel on the Beletage back then, which has now been lovingly revitalized.
The cuisine of the Schwarzer Kameel is and remains, how could it be otherwise, deeply rooted in Viennese tradition. For us, this means bringing the ever-popular classics to the plate as perfectly and carefully as possible. Top chef Werner Pichlmaier celebrates unaffected cuisine at a high level here: dishes with tradition, subtly developed, but without escapades, concentrated on the essentials.
Of course, the menu always adapts to the seasonal offers, and menus are also offered at lunchtime and in the evening.
