The Verdict

Sufret Maryam, third visit and it is only getting better. Chef Salam Daqqaq needs no introduction. She managed to make Bait Maryam the UAE’s most liked Levantine restaurant and earned many awards and was named the middle East and North Africa’s best female chef. Now, she has expanded Bait Maryam into a more fine dining concept. Sufret Maryam offers an elevated take on Levantine cuisine. While the dishes at the new location may lean more towards fine dining compared to the JLT gem, the authentic flavours continue to be present in this elevated restaurant. Make sure to order the Musakhan Rolls which is a Palestinian dish composed of roasted chicken baked with onions, sumac, allspice, saffron and fried pine nuts. The hummus, the Muhammara and the falafels were also stars. Khobez Al Bait which is her take on Pizza was also great. Do not forget to order the Mansaf and the Lamb Shoulderfor the main course and the Kunafa and Halawat el Jebn for the dessert.
