The Verdict
Shams el balad, Amman, Jordan. Set in an old villa which has been minimally restored, Shams originally started as a flower shop. Founded by married couple Maha and Hazem Malhas as a small breakfast cafe serving dishes then quickly evolved into a cozy restaurant. You will find here some of the classic Jordanian dishes like Tomato Qallayeh. The food is decent, but you are mainly here for the ambience.
