Burapa Eastern Thai Cuisine & Bar in Bangkok, along with Sri Trat, (although the latter is better in my view) are pioneers for Eastern Thailand and its food. Thailand’s north-east province is called Isaan.Thailand’s north-east region and east region are not the same. And neither is the food. The rural region is known for its rich cultural diversity and its cuisine with its bold flavours. Because it’s very hot and humid in the area, the cuisine relies heavily on preservation and fermentation and the food is also characterised by local herbs, vegetables and spices. There’s lots of fermented fish paste or shrimp paste to give dishes a strong kick of umami – and it has a famously fiery nature.Decor is Orient Express-themed The food was served a bit on cold side which was disappointing.
