Sfumato is an all day dining restaurant by Chef Aena Solod with an attempt to provide gastronomic experience. I am not sure how can you combine both. The first surprise was that the restaurant does not serve à la carte during lunchtime, but only a business lunch. Surprising for a restaurant that attempts to provide gastronomic experience. This was not told to us at the time of reservation. When I asked if they could serve à la carte, especially that the chef was in the kitchen the response was not possible. The food is a mixed blessings. The starters were very good. For the mains, the pasta dish was way below average. The sauce tasted as if it was poured from a can, and on the sweet side. The steak was okay, but nothing special. As for the desserts, the version of the honey cake was a failure and the tart was bland and the same yoghurt cream was used for both desserts! So the less positive feelings were coming from the menu approach and the taste of some dishes. The dishes missed the finesse and balance. Will I come again? Most probably not. Overall rating is Average.
