Situated in Mayfair is this tiny restaurant called Aline taking its name from its founder's mother, Aline. I came across it while walking in Mayfair. Unfortunately the first thing we noticed was the snobby service. We arrived and the place was almost empty, stood next to a table and asked the waiter if we could set. He asked us to wait and left and after 5m he came back and allowed us to sit on that same table!!! The restaurant serves traditional Lebanese mezze such as hummus and tabbouleh as well as other main dishes. The Mezzeh were good but the mains were much better. The Kebbeh was crispy. The fish was fresh and rice was properly cooked and well seasoned. The meat was a bit overcooked and hard. We didn’t try the desserts so cannot comment. I was hesitant to rate this restaurant between Good and Very Good. I wish there was another category like Good+. However I think I can settle with Very Good.
